Boulder
A boulder is a large, typically rounded rock or stone. In the context of bouldering, it refers to a rock formation that climbers attempt to scale without the use of ropes or harnesses. Boulders offer short, challenging routes called "problems," focusing more on strength and technique rather than endurance. Climbers use pads, known as crash pads, to cushion falls.
