Dyno
A "dyno" is a dynamic move in bouldering where the climber propels themselves from one hold to another, often involving a leap or jump. This move relies on momentum and explosive power, requiring both upper and lower body strength. Dynos are typically used when the next hold is out of reach with static movements.
Examples
Alex approached the overhanging wall and spotted the far-off hold. He braced himself and executed a dyno, leaping off both feet to grasp the target hold with both hands. Sarah found the next foothold out of reach in the middle of her route. With no stable handholds to inch closer, she performed a bold dyno, stretching her entire body towards the jug. During his training session at the gym, Tom practiced dynos on the indoor wall, perfecting his explosive movement to transition between widely spaced holds. Emma watched as Mark attempted the challenge. With a short start, he launched into the air with a powerful dyno, bridging a gap that seemed too far to touch.
