Problem (Boulder Problem)
A Problem, or Boulder Problem, is a predetermined climbing route on a bouldering wall. It consists of a series of holds and moves that climbers must complete from start to finish. These problems vary in difficulty and are often marked with tape or colored holds to differentiate them. The challenge lies in solving the sequence of movements needed to reach the top.
Examples
Climbers encounter a "problem" or "boulder problem" each time they tackle a specific route on a boulder. For example, Jaime examines the holds, planning her sequence carefully before starting her climb. Another scenario is when Alex solves a new problem by figuring out the challenging crux move that had been stumping him for weeks. Finally, Maria cheers as she flashes a difficult problem on her first try, navigating a tricky overhang with precision and strength.
