System board
A system board in bouldering is a training apparatus consisting of a wooden or resin board with holds arranged in a symmetrical pattern. Climbers use it to develop strength, improve technique, and balance by performing mirrored movements on both sides of the body. It allows for focused training on specific muscle groups and climbing skills.
Examples
Jacob practices on the system board to improve his finger strength. He spends 30 minutes on the system board, focusing on holds of different grades and sizes. Maya uses the system board to work on her endurance with repetitive movements on the same set of holds. During training, Aaron alternates between the system board and other climbing exercises to enhance his grip technique. Sophie tracks her progress on the system board to monitor improvement in climbing-specific muscles.
